'Almost Wild Camping' Experience Buttermere
29/30 Mar £125 per person
12/13 Apr
10/11 May
For anyone looking to learn more about wild camping, I have 6 spots available at each of my learning weekends at Sykes Farm in Buttermere.
The incredible topography at Sykes Farm campsite in the Lake District makes it the perfect place to learn. On each weekend I'll be passing on 30 years of wild-camping experience, teaching what to carry, and how to stay lightweight and ergonomic with a 50ltr pack, how to pick a spot to pitch, pitching techniques in bad weather, cooking and hygiene, and how to leave no trace. The weekend will include a Hygge&Wyld walk, a campfire in the evening, the option to join the fantastic Andy from Crummock Mental Health Swims for a morning wild swim in the lake... and a copy of my book 'Finding Hygge in the Wyld'.
Contact me for more info and to book your spot!
*Camping pitch and overnight parking is included in the price, but please bring your own tent, sleeping bag, food, equipment and suitable clothing.

Ramblers Walk
Buttermere Lake Loop
Allow 3 hours £30 per person booking admin fee (2-6 people)
One of my regular Lake District Rambles. 'The Lakeshore walk circles the lake for approx 4.5 miles or 7km. It's mostly a gentle pathed route, with one short road section, and one rocky step (slight scramble).
We'll meet in the centre of the village, where you'll find parking and toilets, then make our way out along the lake shore. There will be opportunities to stop and take photos (I will also take a few snaps for you, which I can share with you after the day), and we'll find a nice spot to stop for a brew along the way (I'll provide tea/coffee/cups etc..).
This is a low-level walk accessible to most fitness levels. But please contact me for more information and to discuss any personal needs.

Whilst I'm a certified Forest Therapy Practitioner, or Forest Bathing guide.. I like to offer a more scientific 'less fluffy' approach to my sessions than most providers. Over the walk I'll introduce you to the history of forest bathing (shinrin-yoku), and the science behind the healing power of trees and nature connection, you'll be invited to participate in some simple connection techniques, which you can use in your daily life to detox from cortisol and the stress of modern life. Walks take place in the Buttermere Valley.
